Job Description

A Computed Tomography (CT) Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations using computed tomography (CT) technology. The following is a general job description for a CT Technician:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Preparing patients for CT examinations by explaining the procedure, answering any questions they may have, and obtaining informed consent.

Positioning patients and equipment to obtain the best possible images, and making any necessary adjustments to the equipment.

Operating CT equipment, ensuring that it is functioning correctly and that the images produced are of sufficient quality for interpretation.

Performing a variety of CT examinations, including head scans, chest scans, and abdominal scans.

Administering contrast agents as necessary, and monitoring patients for any adverse reactions.

Recording, analyzing, and interpreting CT images, and reporting results to the physician or radiologist.

Maintaining accurate and complete records of all CT examinations performed.

Participating in ongoing continuing education to keep current with changes and advances in CT technology and techniques.

Qualifications:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in radiologic technology or a related field.

Completion of a recognized CT technician training program or equivalent experience.

Current certification as a CT Technician, such as the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.

Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, as well as basic medical and radiology concepts.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical dexterity and ability to stand for long periods of time.

Ability to lift and move patients as needed.

This is a not full time but contracted travel position.
