Job Details
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: April 21, 2025
- Shift: 12-hour nights, every other weekend and every other major holiday
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1780 - $1910
- Unit: 18 Bed Neuro Telemetry Unit
- Patient Population: Post CVA, TIA, SCI, TBI, trauma, Myasthenia Gravis, MS
- Current VA RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (required)
- At least 1 year of acute care experience (required)
- Confidence with NIHSS skills and Q4 neuro checks (required)
- 6 months dedicated neuro experience (preferred)
- Proficiency with lab draws (required)
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyze data, and create care plans
- Administer medications safely and in accordance with policies
- Coordinate patient care across hospital departments
- Serve as a patient safety advocate and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Manage patients with multi-system organ failure and/or multisystem trauma
- Perform NIHSS assessments and Q4 neuro checks
- Draw labs including peripheral draws
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care
